01 Hans Nicholas Christmann (b.1702)

This is the family shown on the Palatine Village Map of 1757 (below) from Frontiersmen of New York by Jeptha Simms.
Hans & Maria were among the first settlers in the Burnetsfield Patent having moved there with her parents from Schoharie in 1725. In 1757, Hans' family were among the few survivors after Palatine Village was massacred by the French & Indians. They escaped across the river to Fort Herkimer.
These Christmans were also the among the sufferers at German Flatts after the attack on Sept. 19, 1778.
